About

The Virtual Gallery Initiative saw its inception as a Senior Project at Antioch College. It has since grown into its own open source project, thankfully hosted by our friends at Sourceforge.

It started with a desire to see high quality images on the net and truth be told, a desire to create a fully formed 'cyberspace' that the science fiction writers love so much, and a way to provide some security to fellow artists wishing to publish on the net.

In the main source file is a dedication to the project's inspiration co-founder, Craig Ogan, who helped me bash out a workable project from the gleam of inspiration we had. He was to integrate existing technologies, such as HTML into the VGI client/browser, while I pushed the envelope. He passed away April 4, 2000 at age 23.
He will be sorely missed.
